ahhhhhhh, young love

Morgan has announced she has decided who she wants to be her boyfriend. Well actually she said she wants to marry him but I had to say 'whoa, you're 6. Slow down there!"
Anyway, she is obsessively in love with Jeremy Sumpter, AKA Peter Pan. Terrific film if you haven't seen it yet. It's about the only movie my kids have that I will watch. repeatedly. So before she books the caterer and chooses the honeymoon destination she decided she'd first write him a letter. Luckily I found his address and she quickly set out to formulate the perfect letter to her true love.

(Click to see full size version)

In it she wows him with interesting facts like how high she can leap and how tall her brother is (can you tell we played with a tape measure today?) and then coyly asks him to be her boyfriend. Ahhhh, young love. I'll have to keep you updated on any responses.

So who was your first celebri-crush? Mine was Julian Lennon when "Valotte" was released. Sigh. Of course not much has changed. I still swoon when I get an update from Julian on my MySpace (we're friends, don't cha know). Of course, I'd probably drop Jude in a heart beat if Ralph Fiennes ever showed up at my door.

purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Morgan has good taste - that boy is cute! That's a good movie too. I remember having the biggest crush on Elijah Wood in Huckleberry Finn when I was younger. And, ahem, later on I fell in love with Leo in Titanic. Yes, I was one of the teenagers who saw the film 5 times (at least) in the theater ...

First of all, Danny will be crushed - CRUSHED, I tell you, to hear that Morgan has pledged her heart to another blond bombshell. Young love... so cruel, so tempestuous.

Secondly, that kid is kind of hot. You know I'm already occupying the cougar portion of my brain stem with thoughts of Robert Pattinson, but this kid... give him a few years, and meeeeow. Mama like, mama like.

(I kid, I kid! Aside from the crush on Robert Pattinson. Totally serious on that one)

Oh, and I think Morgan is being a bit forward asking how "big" this kid is. I mean, really. Wait for the 2nd date for that one, sweetie.

Yes, Bev I thought the same thing 'what about Danny?!' but fear not, I suspect this will be a fleeting crush and she'll be back to claim Danny as her one true love.
Oh yeah, this kid is 19 years old now and still really cute. I reminded Morgan he's 13 years older than she and then she asked how much older is Daddy than me... oh. Nevermind.

Well, I'm thinking this boy is pretty cute. I might even google to see what he looks like now at 19. I think, probably, I'm too old for him. *smile* I don't remember who my first "star" crush was on, but Josh and I had a great conversation about my falling in "love" in Kindergarten with the preacher's kid. :-) Ahhhh.... young love is right.

I totally had a crush on ricky schroeder from silver spoons. this may mean I am significantly older than you...oh well...the truth is out. Lilianna just wants to get married because she thinks if you get married you become a princess....there may be too many disney movies at our house!

Is it my imagination, or does this boy child look a little bit like Morgan - they could be twins!

ah celebrity crushes - i'm still saying just one night with Rod Stewart! Now that makes me positively ancient!

Ha, my daughter loves that kid, too, ever since we got the movie. Although she might have dumped him now for Zac Efron. Hard to keep it.

Happy holidays, Mala. Thank you for reading my blog this year.

Humm, I think mine went from Shaun Cassidy to Rick Springfield. Now I'm giving away my age. Luckily, Julia hasn't discovered boys "much" yet--although she told me her family leader at school is "hot" (he's 13)--damn near gave me a heart attack! We won't be telling daddy about that!

That letter is just about the cutest thing ever...and seriously, speaking as a short girl myself, if you've got it (height!), flaunt it!!

I was a big fan of Ricky Schroeder myself, and I loved John Stamos (from way back in his Blackie on General Hospital Days) but I just knew that I was destined to marry Michael Jackson. Hmmm...was I ever off on that one!!!
